is the fact that City haven't skipped a beat an indictment on KDB's legacy :jbhmm:

It just highlights the fact that the Pep system is bigger than any one player. Citeh not skipping a beat without KDB was already established when they did the domestic treble when KDB missed majority of the season. But its no indictment on his legacy because he's been one of the best players in the league year in year out. KDB brings more chaos than control compared to the likes of a Bernardo and Gundogan do. With his driving with the ball and passing from all different angles. The half spaces the byline overlapping crosses. The transitional phases passes.

Exactly. This is the era of the Super Manager, not the World class player. Not saying you don't need world class players of course you do. But this is the era where the system is just as important as the player. Before the players were the most important.

I feel like how important you are to your team should count for something though in legacy debates. Its not the end all be all but should be taken into consideration I think, some guys are a cog in the wheel and some guys put teams on their back, ie Maradona, Gerrard, Totti etc

Because all of that is a pissing contest talking points. My dad's better than your dad type nonsense. Otherwise the likes Matt Le Tissier Iago Aspas Berardi and Di Natale etc.. are the greatest footballers of all time.
