But the reality is the Americans came in, spent 300m on a sport and tried to change it drastically with that super league fukkery. Super league got rejected and they realized they'll have to invest in their squad constantly in order to compete, so they'd rather sell for a huge profit.

Meanwhile they are leaving whoever buys it with a squad that's been run into the ground, an Egyptian diver past his best on a new contract, and FFP laws that they lobbied for, so even if a State tries to buy the club, they can't invest the 500m needed to truly change that squad.

A mediocre Liverpool is what's best for football anyway. Don't have to worry about fans printing fake tickets trying to hijack stadiums.
