Konate was significantly better last year but mandem didn’t want to admit it.
Konate was great last season, but even before Konate's run Matip was lowkey putting in great performances as well.

Now here we are…dude is washed. The indignity of allowing Milner to embarrass him publicly is unforgivable.
Don't know what Milner was on about for the first goal because that was all on TAA and Gomez. But the second one was real bad with that weak challenge on Martial :picard:

But van Dijk has to close down Sancho, irrespective of TAA & Gomez. It was just fukking bizarre seeing him standing there like a statue, giving Sancho acres of space & time to pick out the finish.

He probably impacts the GK, too. It's really poor from a player who is supposed to be one of the world's preeminent CBs.

Sure in hindsight he should've stepped up. But initially with TAA falling asleep and Gomez stepping out to poorly close down Elanga, VVD was left by himself to cover the space for 2 defenders.

If a proper DM (Fabinho) was there instead of Milner he would've been positioned better in the box to begin with and then I also doubt Fabinho would've been juked out like that by Sancho. But all we see now is VVD doing an impression of Alisson with his arms behind his back :manny:

Again he should've stepped up to close down Sancho but there are bigger culprits for that goal.

Homeboy was wearing the wrong colors in the wrong section :picard:

Let me post up around Raça Fla or any Flamengo organizada wearing Palmeiras gear and see what happens, dude was trying to be edgy and was gonna make Mancha Verde look p*ssy if Flamengo won talking about "see I was there the whole time mocking them they didn't do shyt about it".

In General, VVD doesnt engage. He likes to mop up and stroll out with the ball but he doesnt like to engage.

nikkas thought that “never dribbled past” stat was a good thing. Forgetting there’s a reason why.
Legends like Maldini and others engage and get cooked on occasion, this one either puts his hands behind him or runs backwards. Stat padding defender :scust:

He really has done fukk all in that moment. Literally the worst of all worlds. If you don’t close down the man then at least get yourself on the line to have a better chance at blocking the shot.

He just stood there trying to do his best Liam Gallagher impression. Bizarre.

This video shows how Van Dijk defends brilliantly.
