If we're playing Martinez/Maguire this season something has gone very wrong.

It's gonna be interesting. I initially thought ETH might play 5 at the back but that hasn't been the case so far in friendlies.

With Martinez, Maguire, Lindelof, Varane, Bailly, Phil Jones and even Telles playing as CB (with Shaw/Malacia occupying LB) there's quite a back log there.

You're right that a mobile CB is much needed, we have that in Bailly on rare occasion he's fit. But also Bailly is the only player that has any sale value at all

Maguire prefers LCB but he's not left footed.

That move would confirm something I always knew about Ronaldo, this dude doesn't care about any specific set of fans or legacy at any club. Since day one he's always just wanted to be the best and never really mattered where that happened.

He would probably seriously consider a move to Liverpool if Klopp was interested.

Can't really knock that about him as the concept of loyalty in football has always been flawed and very one sided

(Good) players are expected to be loyal to the club for as long as their talents justify a place but as soon as you fall off, it's the door for you and you'll be lucky to get a send off.


Hopefully what this will do however is dispel the myth that he ever "loved" United.

Ronaldo wants to make sure he plays in CL at this point and make sure his CL goal scoring record is set in stone. He probably wont retire until after Messi does

McFred will be there till August or possibly the rest of the season unless he plans to break in Iqbal and Savage.

Might get another back up Striker depending on Ronaldo and a RB if we offload Wan Bisakka, but nobody wants to pay his wages.

You'd have thought it'd been the first port of call if you saw 2 minutes of the abomination which was their midfield last season

Fred was better last season but he and Mctominay combined do less of a job that 1 quality DM would do

My guess is that ETH wants the midfield to be Fred DeJong Eriksen or Bruno DeJong Eriksen. Hopefully means McTom will be in the League cup or Europa league team.

It's the one position ignored without fail every year. I think Matic and Fred were the last DM's to be signed yet every year it's wingers, fullback and CB's that come in.

It seems people think FDJ is gonna come in and fill that void.
