Remember when pompous brits tried to say Pep wouldn't be able to instill his game in the PL because it's so cOmPeTitIvE? :mjlol:

If it wasn't for Klopp, Pep would be running away with his 5th in a row

Let's tell the truth, Fraudiola flopped in the first season and would have been sacked if the board didn't open up budgets...

Remember he took over a title winning team from Pellegrini.. This team will won 4 more Prem titles in a row, where are the Champs League titles?

Opened up budgets can only take you so far. Look at Man U who have spent over a billion and won jack shyt. City were winning before him yes, but he's taken them to a another level. You gotta be inhumanly consistent because his teams can casually win 10+ games in a row

Pep not being able to win the CL without Messi and the spanish golden generation doesn't erase the fact that he's turned the "most competitive" league in the world into his very own farmers league

The team he took over finished fourth the season before.

You are at war with facts.

I think Liverpool are playing to their level, and in any other era they would be dominating. The problem is City don't drop points, ever. So it looks like they are "choking" or struggling but they're right where they should be. No other team has even put up a fight against City these last few years, that's the real story.

Any manager wins the league with that city squad. Wake me up when guardiola wins a CL final of he's such a genius

Down super bad.

If you just ignore Pep and look at what happened today, a rested Liverpool squad took on a Leicester team missing over 5 first team players, playing a midfielder in central defense, on 2 days of rest, and Liverpool couldn't score. This is the sort of drop in performance that happens, especially as the season progresses and teams figure out how you attack. But it rarely happens with a team managed by Pep.

Is Pep a great coach? Of course.

What I will say though is that he has the perfect set up at Man City.

An owner(s) that doesn't interfere. He has his man Tixi from Barca as a Man City director who signs off on nearly anything and everything that he wants. That level of coaching ability, club cohesion and unlimited funds are rare. (Roman's old secretary is effectively running Chelsea and the squad is a mix of random players bought by several different managers. Liverpool don't have the money. Man Utd are a joke.)

No other coach in world football has it as good as Pep does (correct me on this if I'm wrong but I just don't see it). It took a super human effort from Liverpool to take a title off them which just shows how absurdly good they are over a 38 game season. But no European Cups with the most expensively assembled squad in the history of the sport is laughable.
