He's done. Add age and the spring in his legs has gone also. I haven't done any research on this but some say post malaria recovery players aren't the same. The only example I have is Kolo Toure who was never the same after catching malaria. But some Arsenal fans will say the decline had already kicked in pre malaria. :manny:

With that said I did say Arsenal should of moved on from him after the FA Cup Win. :manny: I've always agreed with the Logan's Run principle when it comes to football :hubie:

He was already losing a step. Even with the FA Cup if you watched him week in and out, you could tell something was off. He wasn't putting away chances he would normally bury, he wasnt running at defenders or even trying shots from distance. Many of his goals were pens or coming off the counter I'd say its been about two years since he's consistently created for himself.

Auba was brought here with the intention that Ozil would be here as well. Without that world class ball, someone like Auba looked lost. Meanwhile, and you can find my feelings on this in this thread, I've always said that for the personnel that Arsenal currently have Lacazette is a better fit. He tracks back, looks for a winger to pass to, and can operate better in tight spaces. Part of why ESR, Martinelli, Saka and Odegaard are scoring is because Lacazette is making a shyt ton of space for them. To a less physical degree, its the same job Olivier Giroud did for France in the last WC.

As long as he goes to a club outside the Premier League I'm okay with this. We all know there is a player there but for so many reasons it just didn't ultimately work out. Those wages will be a serious obstacle though.
