Barcelona is in some serious trouble. They’re financially “broke”, restricted in spending for numerous reasons, don’t have stranglehold of world football talent, they lack speed and power which is tremendously important in modern football, their academy doesn’t produce world class talent nor is their doping program good as it used to be.

Seeing how Coman effortlessly went pass two players; is the new reality for Barcelona. Dembele is their only player in their squad that can do that and he is injury prone. Once he leaves; they don’t have anyone who can do that nor have the funds or star attracting power anymore.

Unless there is a La Liga resurgence in finance or they stumble upon another golden era, they are the next AC Milan.

Couldn't have to a nicer club,

:whoa:

Gavi, Fati & Pedri got the juice. With careful nurturing they could become World beaters.

Whether Barca can afford to keep them or even if they would want to stay at Barca is another matter, though.

Barca really believe in Xavi like that? Asking out if genuine curiosity and lack of knowing.

They don't have anyone else. Realistically who could of Barca hired instead? If you know anything about Laporta then you'll understand why he chose Xavi.

Barca have an experience problem. Pique and Biscuits are declined so much that they are a problem to the team when they play and don't get the protection. Problem is the next inline of experience the 27-30 y/o players are either not wanted or not good enough/failed so Pique and Biscuits are being overused Pique more so. And then you have all the under 23's. Barca need good and less damaged players in the 24-27 range. The only good player is De Jong. Everyone else is potential or broken in some form or other.

It's kinda like the same situation Arsenal find themselves in. Where they have loads of potential in the young players but the experiences ones are letting them down in someway or another. Father time not being good enough or failed to settle to the league.

Actually Shaw is the opposite of Martial, as in he does better when there's competition.

He's on the same boat with him based on have more bad season's than good.

But Marital played in all our cup wins. :manny:

Think so. He has that Barcelona DNA.

I want the same energy towards Xavi's credentials for being Barca manager as people had for Ole being our manager because of 'United DNA'. At least Ole's interim period felt like something special. Arguably though we had a much better squad and ownership

I honestly wonder how Barcelona are gonna solve their financial situation. I can't think in my lifetime other than Leeds and Blackburn when a club took a huge nosedive over finances and even then, this seems much more severe
