If you watch a lot of South American football (Brasileiro Serie A, Copa Libertadores, Copa America etc) you’ll know there’s a lot of fouling and flailing. If the ref gets too card happy then games would be finishing 9v9.

So in that context I think he did well save blowing the game 5-10 secs early.
