Seeing how happy Newcastle fans were delighted that Sunderland are in League 1 and how Sunderland fans were happy when they helped relegate Newcastle years before that, I'll say no to a certain degree. :mjlol:

But in seriousness, rival fans would like the dayout, Luton fans were probably happy Watford got relegated to the same league as them since they haven't played eachother for over 10 years.

One last question. Would fans prefer to be a solid winner in a lower league or be crap in the highest league? Seems like winning even if it’s in a lower league would preferable over losing.

Thanks for the replies.

Top league probably. At some point going back to the lower leagues and being flat track bullies on there would eventually get boring. Look at Celtic and Rangers with the rumours of them going to the Premier League for more money, but it's a dead on arrival rumor.

Fulton sent off, lights out for Swansea.

So how does that affect rivalries? Do fans enjoy traditional rivalries or would they rather see the team move up to a better league?

Everyone enjoy seeing their rivals suffer as far as I know.

Imagine if you spent a year smashing dimes in Brazil and then you get deported back to the States surrounded by pigs/whales. You’ll be doing everything to get back in Brazil, even if it’s on a temporary visa.

Your rivals are having the time of their lives surrounded by big bundas and pretty faces, making “wish you were here” Instagram posts. It may not be as easy to sustain but it’s better being there.

Brazil is the premier league, USA is the championship (in terms of dimes)
