Let's fukk up the Scottish league instead. :pachaha:

Rangers and Celtic coming to PL been talked about as long as a European Super League. It still doesn't help Scottish football because it still won't improve the quality of the Scottish footballers. Once Celtic get that PL money they will slowly transition away from using Scottish players. Look at the Rangers team apart from the keeper I don't know if they have any other Scottish players. They wouldn't of been able to close the gap on Celtic if they continued to using majority homegrown players. Scottish football like Irish football needs an overhaul big investment and new young blood with a vision to bring it into the future. Can argue the Welsh teams are playing in England but there was no Welsh league at the time so they had no other option but join the English league.

Even if they do that, it will take them quite a while to adjust to the strength of the premier league so they'll be no CL, no trophies for them for the foreseeable future. Would this really benefit Celtic/Rangers?

The homegrown players criticism happens in every sport where big money comes though. This is often coupled with talks about decreasing quality of the NT too.

I think it's a cycle where a league attracts better foreign players which leads to homegrown ones improving so they can be starters and vice versa. I wouldnt worry too much in the long term.
