all these transfers here were worth it. fukk around, Pepe might come good too. Coutinho went to the worst team possible bc there's this player called messi there who does everything he does great, better. It aint like Coutinho still don't got it, look how he did at Bayern?

It shows how few clubs can buy players at that price. That's not many when you consider all of the clubs out there. Some adjustments are possible in that Arsenal would struggle to do that again and City is absent. It must be a City policy to not pay above a certain amount.

9-10 clubs. At the upper-upper end you were, pre covid, looking at PSG, City, Man Utd, Real, Barca and possible Juve. Post-covid it is probably just PSG, City, Man Utd, Real.

Madrid, Barca, Juve and Inter cannot afford him or his wages. Arsenal just celebrated from offloading Ozil, you think they gonna sign Coutinho? Which leaves 3 teams, and China :mjlol: who knows, maybe Brendan Rodgers can get Leceister to take a punt?

City don't negotiate over a certain price. They only make the move if the other club doesn't mess with the price too much and if the player really wants to come. We got out bid for Pogba, Fred, Maguire, Jorginho, Koulibaly, Van Dijk. I imagine if we make a move for Haaland something similar will happen. It's just the transfer policy at the moment.

Dortmund need to cash in on him this summer otherwise that 75m release clause kicks in next summer. And after this season he may want to go as the team going nowhere with its current construction. If they want to keep him they have to get a proper coach.

It's a good policy IMO.

Yeah, because certain clubs and agents like to get extortionate when certain teams come to the table. In the end you end up with a player with a big transfer fee, big agent fee and big wages. If they don't work out you have to pay them again just for another team to take them.
