Jose saved his career from stagnating, as he wouldn't know what to do with him anyway. :manny:

Not like Jose hasn't thrived with dynamic/mercurial attacking mids. Ozil, Hazard, Cole etc all put up good numbers with Jose at the helm. I'm just mad that the we had paperwork all setup and we could've signed him and maybe him loaned him back to QPR or another team for the season. Worst case, sell him on a profit down the line :snoop:

Jose had to play attacking football at Real. It was really only the Barca games where he went back to type especially after the 5-0.

Jose put up with Hazard, he didn't really trust him tho. There's a CL game vs Atletico at the Bridge were Jose was fuming with Hazards lack of tracking back, especially for one of their goals. The whole Eva thing was because of Hazard and when Hazard had a hip injury that season before he was sacked he was questioning Hazard's desire. If Jose had his way he would of probably got him sold if someone like Roman wasn't owner.

Joe Cole under Jose lost the magic that he had at West Ham, made him a better overall player, more functional to the team. But the maverick ability Cole had while at West Ham when they got relegated, Cole could never consistently replicate that magic under Jose.

Took Mikel from a forward passer to a sideways passer.

Eze is a talent that needs to be allowed to play his natural game without too much complication. Jose would have him more focused on playing left left wing full back. The only use Jose would have for him would be his set piece delivery.

Outside of the initial power struggle of Jose trying to assert his will on these creative players and them buying into his ideology, most of them thrived and won plaudits and trophies. Sure, some of these players would've preferred a more attack minded coach but most probably look back and appreciate the fact that they won trophies and learnt a lot about the game from Jose. I even forgot about Sneidjer, another talented player who had to adjust his playstyle to be trusted by Jose and can walk away from the game knowing he has a CL medal to his name.

Mou is pragmatic but he's not dumb, he gets that he needs that creative spark, unfortunately, he can be super abrasive which can irk a lot of players. I look at Dele's situation right now with us. Pre-lockdown Dele was the chosen one but once Jose started making demands of him to stop with the needless flicks and to track back, he went back into his shell and can barely get a game. Is Dele no longer talented? Not at all. He just needs to buy into Jose is asking from him. shyt, even N'dombele who for most of last season was a footnote is tracking back, pressing and still able to show his creative side.
