How's that offside? The deflection set the ball in the stationery player's direction who still managed to get out of the way without touching it.

You could argue he was interfering with play by providing a "dummy" to the ball as it went towards goal.

If he would've touched the ball, no question offside. But then you penalize anyway for getting out of the way? That's a tough one.
