Nothing wrong with it.
Mobility and the 3 allows both FB's to push up high and doesn't expose the defence as bad, as it has the 3 man midfield shield. Which ever FB pushes on he highest the side CM covers the FB.
With the line up, It isn't that much different to how Liverpool line up when they attack.
Wings come inside, the FB's provide the width and then the midfield takes turns going forward. Also they have Messi who is the creative fulcrum of the team anyway.

Wouldn't be a surprise if it was more a diamond midfield than a 3 up front.
Bale is the out ball and Benz drops deeper to link the play to hit Barca on the counter.
