back in middle school, 8th grade (13-14 years old) specifically, we used to do it to random people in the hallway. Diamondcutters, stone cold stunners, etc, anyone could get it. We would do it to our brehs who were in on the joke and to folks who had no idea what wrestling were (wimminz). I personally stopped once I accidentally grabbed a girl's boob.

I think I stopped really following wrestling and started lusting girls more at that point too. :wowjb:

I've been thinking and seeing coverage about Colbert taking over for Letterman. I haven't watched late night talk shows in years and not even Colbert can get me to watch them. I do feel like the internet love for Jon Stewart and Colbert is very overstated.

I mean I have watched the Daily Show and the Colbert Report and they are funny but people trumpet them like they're some vital organ for American democracy and politics which is a bit absurd. And I don't think they think they are, it's mostly the internets and the fans of the show. I think Bill Maher thinks he is. But I hate Bill Maher so that's another post, another day.

this just happened a few days ago and it's very similar

that reuters article that said something like 70% of americans aren't going to watch the world cup sent shockwaves throughout the soccer internet. the denial, the "they have an anti-soccer agenda" happened all day.

the fact is soccer is still a tiny sport, and immersing yourself in the soccer world on the internet, or with your friends, or with your supporters group, or living in a city with big immigrant populations means you will eventually have an extremely biased opinion of a topic. much more so when it's your personal philosophy at stake.

i dont need to tie it all together cause the comparison is obvious, but yeah


and is colbert funny without his little character and an adoring audience? he may be a lame just like the others

I'll admit my dad watches Colbert, Stewart and Maher religiously. And you would think that that would turn him into some forbidden mainstream liberal monster but no, I think he watches them just because he actually thinks they're funny

Colbert's show really could suck, that's the thing. I've never seen him outside of his schtick, plus I'm interested to see who they get for his band.

Agree on Colbert. Get the feeling he will bomb. Never thought it was a great mix. Folks are in love with the character and you get away with a lot on Comedy Central, these late night shows in the 11:30 slot are still conservative. That's why Conan bombed.

Yeah, 11:30 shows are surprisingly conservative. 70% of the country is asleep for those shows yet they still keep it tame. I blame Carson.


Bill Maher probably has the best show out of Stewart, Colbert, and himself but he is also the least knowledgeable and most political which is grating. He is also the least funny.
