Agree with most of this, but, and I say this as a massive fan of Ian Wright Wright Wright!!, he wasn’t great when he did play for England either. There were probably a few mitigating reasons for it, but he never seemed to be quite the same for the English as for Arsenal.

Venables was a problem, as you say.

He was a lot better than Ferdinand and Cole, although I am sure United and Newcastle fans might disagree. In fact, it was probably the brilliance of Wrighty that killed any chance that Andy Cole might have had coming through the ranks with us. Cole was supposed to have been a bit of an a$$hole when he was a youngster at Arsenal, too, and George Graham didn’t like him. Shame, as I’m sure he would have been brilliant with us and a great successor to IW.
Agree with it all

You could say Wright was a bit like John Barnes , someone who was brilliant for their club but then never really did the same for their country

And yeah I would choice Wright over Cole every time, I thought he was the much better player , plus he wouldn't sulk and be bitter for years just because someone didn't shake his hand when being replaced by him as a sub

I guess ‘sensible’ Arsenal fans will be happy with yet another top 3 finish. Us “whiners” will just accept the inevitable since the club are happy with mediocrity and another trophy less season.

Sensible Arsenal fans need to appreciate how far they have come and the tremendous efforts of Arteta who these fans are lucky to have.

Arsenal are genuinely only good enough to finish top 3 (dare I say top 4) and Arteta is securing that spot season after season. Therefore, I don't get the whole accepting mediocrity argument.

Trophies will come down the line (I predict in the next 4-5 seasons) so fans just need to be patient. You can't act spoilt like your team are historic serial winners like Real Madrid

Game on
Biggest game of the season

I don't care how big these plastic clubs get, this is and always will be the biggest game of the season, and the reverse fixture

Sorry Man U fans, I want to humiliate you today, I've got to go watch It in some bar tonight and there will be this dikkhead United fan who is always in there

Plus it will be pay back for last season
Everyone goes on about Klopp derailing our season because of his announcement in January but it wasn't that.

It was losing to you lot in the Fa Cup and the way we lost that screwed our season up
