We should beat Sudan comfortably right? They haven't won a game in a awhile. :jbhmm:

But then again it doesn't matter in a national tournament. :patrice:

Hopefully the team is much sharper.

After that first half just looking at the Egypt squad it's majority Egypt based players. I just don't see how they'll be able to compete with the other powerhouse nations. With Algeria Morocco and the West African nations getting the European born and based players repping the country of their parents/grandparents nowadays. The advantage in quality Egypt have in club football doesn't really translate to the international stage. :hubie:

It’s really not surprising. The years Egypt have done well in AFCON (2006-2010 three peat, 2017 final) coincided with when Al Ahly and Zamalek were getting jiggy in CAF CL.

We just need a Nigeria, Cameroon, CIV or Algeria to break into the SFs and things are gonna change.

Yeah I watch them and I'm just :unimpressed:. Felt that way about them in 2019 also. The 00's team had good quality with Aboutrika Hassan Zidan and Zaki.
