I also don't want to single out or scapegoat any players even though they deserve to but its so funny to me to read that Fred made zero tackles the whole match yesterday. Zero. :gucci:
Wouldn't surprise me if he's low on confidence. There's definitely a player there who can contribute in the right system/team.

Neville panicking. :mjlol:

that is not why "people are criticising him". they are criticising the under-handed manner in which he is acting.

lying to people to justify his Mates FC position is bound to annoy some fans

if GNev2 said "I support Ole even though he isn't good enough because he is my mate" and stopped with the excuse making the fans would leave him alone and his Sky contract and reputation might take a hit. The excuse making over the last couple of years is what people find hard to stomach.

3 at the back as our main formation?

It helps Slabhead. I've been thinking recently that he either cannot play in a traditional back 4 or he would be better off playing outside the PL.

This is complete nonsense. Your ability as a player has nothing to do with your ability as a manager. Frank Lampard is possibly the greatest Chelsea player of all time. Won us everything, even as a manager, he got us top 4 and FA cup final when we were transfer banned, and had lost out best player Eden Hazard. He even introduced the likes of Mason Mount, Reece James, Tammy and a host of Chelsea youngsters who are going to be key for us in the future.

Yet he simply was not good enough to take us to the next level and I was very happy when he was sacked. His sacking will do nothing to diminish the love and respect I have for him as Chelsea legend. The Glazers need some of that Abramovich ruthlessness.

With the way the team is setup to defend from that 3 man line of attackers it's asking a lot of any midfielder to cover that space. You got Bruno higher than Ronaldo at times. And then Greenwood and Rashford stay up to. Anyone in that midfield is tasked w/ covering far far too much space. You cant even get close to anyone to make a tackle when that happens. I'm amazed our midfielders dont fall over dead around 60 mins.

2 Kante's cant cover all of that space man.

Like what are they actually meant to do here

Or w/ this a average positions

Our buildup is the same way there's just acres and acres of space between the 2 man and Bruno. Bruno need to go back to being a midfielder or its just never going to work.

He's had some poor form and injuries this season, but he's proved over long periods of time that he can play very well in a 4. Not just for United but for England, he was great in the euros in a 4 this summer.:dwillhuh:

But you may be right in that he could be even more effective in a 3/5.:manny:

An integral part of a title winning team?
Depends on how you define 'integral' i guess. :jbhmm:

But he's capable of being 1 of 4 central midfielders in a title winning squad.

He gets a raw deal, and always has done, he's far better than the joke he's often been portrayed as. He's been a victim of the situation, and there's always a focus on what he CAN'T do over what he can. On who he isn't(Roy Keane) rather than who he is.

Put him in a functioning team where he can concentrate on breaking up play/hustling/closing space and carrying the ball forward from the defensive third and i think he's fine.

Don't get me wrong he's had a few stinkers, but he's a decent player on form.

I will admit i'm maybe a bit biased though as i've always had a soft spot for him.

For me, at best a good squad player. In a midfield 3 maybe but with this collection of midfielders we have, I just don't see it at all. I really wanted him to succeed when he got here but there has been way too many poor performances than good ones from him.
