He needs a defensive midfielder behind him and he needs to play with mobile players who do not lose the ball cheaply.

You see this both with France and at Juve.

Paul is not good on the turn, is slow to get up to speed and loses the ball more than he should.

His short passing game is average at best.

Of those two wins one should have been a loss and one a draw.

You need fast+energetic full-backs, the CDM has to be fast and at least 1 fast CB.

Also you need (as a team) to keep the ball better to get around his defensive frailties.

What about grass length and temperature?

If it rains a little too hard then you can't expect him to perform.

He's Ozil. Needs runners with him and defensive cover. They don't hide him well. Would still build the team around him over Bruno though.

Bruno was a strange purchase. High output but his skills are at odds with the other players. Because of his low ball retention he is another player that needs the right supporting cast.

VdB for me is supposed to be backup for when (if) Pogba leaves and for depth.

Our priority should have been a CDM ... Partey for example. Fabinho maybe.

how old are you breh?. I'm old and I don't really remember Hoddle like that. Well not prime 80's version and he was already at Monaco by the time I started watching football properly. All I remember is post knee injuries Swindon/Chelsea version.
