boxing dementia was known for hundreds of years.
Everyone knows being punched in the face for a living is bad for your health, but he money is what drives it and people make that choice and accept that risk.

the wild thing is each of the fighters mentioned have a specific story of how they got their damage

g-man it was several warning type events that unfortunately came to a head at all once
terry was not just the fights but the hard sparring he did
toney was taking punches from hard hitting heavyweights and he was a middle at one point
meldrick was one brutal fight and a slow decline after

agreed..no matter how defensive you are..you can get damage....the human body is not meant to take blunt force trauma over and over..there's always been brain damage in boxing..only it takes is one punch sometimes to make things go wrong

He clearly beat Paulie though. LOL
Before I gave you the benefit of the doubt and said you don't like AB but you are objective maybe, but now can't even claim to be objective

Clearly to me, Paulie was active but his work wasn't effective at all 8 - 4 Broner on my card

Don't mind him... the library has extended hours during the summer, so he's been just talking reckless lately to make up for lost time:ehh:

Of course AB won that fight clearly....he was landing the cleaner, harder, more effective punches in every round:manny:

This is why I say we put unrealistic expectations on nikkas as fans and ive been guilty of it to. I saw the nikka who taught me how to box recently and his speech was off and he told me he was fighting again. You know who I'm talking about n he didnt even have that long of a career and is starting to show effects. :francis:

He has a legit gig as a firefighter but you know how it is that lifestyle is like a drug.

when i met him he hadn't fought in like 5-6 years....i thought he was mentally challenged cuz of the way he talked until he started boxing and he looked :whoo: :wow:...he was training for a comeback...he only had 23 pro fights..not a long career but he had a pair of back to back fights..his only losses and they were brutal...im thinking and the guys were like there was no way he would get licensed even if physically he looked ok..fast forward about 10 years..the last time i saw him was at dirrell-degale in boston with yawn..and dude was shaking...he has parkinsons now...its sad
