Alright booth brehs. Another year another Hip Hop Grammy's thread...
I was honestly debating on whether or not to even make this thread this year, for the past decade the National Academy Of Recording Arts & Sciences has LAUGHABLY gotten the nominees and winners dead WRONG when it comes to Hip Hop. This is the same ceremony that awarded Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift (TWICE) album of the year over Kendrick Lamar's far superior and genre expanding first three studio albums. The same ceremony which snubbed J.Cole's chart topping, record breaking, and critically acclaimed KOD. The same ceremony which has failed to properly honor and recognize legends such as Nas, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and DMX; while novelty artists such as Eminem, Macklemore, and Young MC all have Gramophones. So in a year that saw Hip Hop dominate the streaming charts (of the 25 acts featured on Billboard's streaming songs list, 17 are rappers) dominate the cultural landscape (Drake's Gods Plan and Childish Gambino's This is Amerca videos were viral and mainstream monster hits) and dominate the popular news cycle (Pusha T Vs Drake will go down in history as one of the only times that the public unveiling of a newborn child was a cause for supreme embarrassment and shame) it is only fitting that Kendrick Lamar, rap's current VOG (Voice Of A Generation) and so often overlooked and under appreciated by the academy itself, leads the pack in nominations. 2018 was surely a banner year for Hip Hop....
And oh yea, that Kanye guy was around too
So for the love of God, I present the nominees for this year's Hip Hop Grammys
