So I've been making this thread for the last couple years and I'm not gonna stop now :D
This is the Australian Football Rules Grand Final. The #1 seed (Hawthorn) vs the #3 seed (Sydney) being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
In the most ignorant description possible this is Aussie Rules Football:
-The mass scrambles of a fumble in football
-The jumpballs of basketball
-The tactics of soccer and rugby
-The movement of soccer
-The field goal kicking/punting of football
-The hitting of hockey/football
-The catching of football
-The scrums of rugby
With about 50 players on the field and things happening all over the place at once, looking mad random cause of the scrambling going on most of the time when there's a fumble.
TEAMS
#1 seed Hawthorn (Hawks)
vs
#2 seed Sydney (Swans)
RULES
the field, an oval
scoring - three posts, the middle one (6 points), the side ones (1 point)
the grand final
There's 90,000 people expected to be there.
It's a shame FS+ has the rights instead of ESPN2, I used to keep up with the league every week but not anymore. Geelong went downhill ever since Ling retired, and Collingwood lost int he playoffs (again!) so these are two new powers going for the title.
Tune it, or stream it, it's gonna be a good one
