DC employee leaks details about DC Universe digital service

In May, Warner Bros. officially announced their highly anticipated digital streaming service. The details were light, though. All they told us was that it’ll be called “DC Universe” and they mentioned the shows that they were working on. We didn’t hear anything about what else it would offer or when the service would be launching.

But now, a DC employee working on DC Universe has revealed even more details. A woman named Dani Snow was a guest earlier this month on a podcast called “James Bonding”. At the end of the show, Snow was asked if there was anything she wanted to plug, and that’s when she revealed brand new details about DC Universe.

“I work at DC Comics — sorry, DC Entertainment — and we are about to launch I think late August, our DC digital platform which will be a hub for all things DC,” Snow revealed. “There will be digital movies, TV shows that you can watch, streaming. We’re going to have a lot of comics on there.”

Snow went on to explain that in addition to producing new shows, they are working on adding a back catalog of older animated TV shows and movies. Snow said that she will be acting as community manager for DC Universe and that fans can expect a lot of interaction and giveaways.

While this hasn’t been officially announced by Warner Bros. yet, it gives us a great indication of what to expect from DC Universe. It sounds like it’ll be launching later this summer and will be a hub for all things DC, including digital comics, not just TV shows.

Stay tuned to Batman News for more official details about DC Universe as Warner Bros. releases them. You can listen to the community manager talk about some of its upcoming features below at the 1:27:25 mark.

Will they finally stop bullshytting and get on the digital comics subscription wave?

About 70-80% of the comics I read are DC, and I'd be more than willing to pay for Comixology Unlimited type service just for DC, even if it was only pre-Flashpoint books.
This is all I really care about. It's 2018. They need to stop fukking around. They were slow to get into the digital comics game in the first place. Marvel Unlimited... Comixology Unlimited... I've been a member of both on/off throughout the last few years. I would be a steady subscriber to a DC Unlimited service because those are the characters I love the most.

Yeah, how they don't have something similar to marvel unlimited at this point is just :mindblown:
