Apparently the sustained beating :flabbynsick: gave Tex disgusted Cosell to the point where he stopped commentary and quit calling boxing.

Maybe I'm not on point, but anybody else find it disrespectful to call him flabby and sick? I mean, Holmes is a legend, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. I get the line, it was funny at the time, but he deserves better, right?

What's ironic is...Holmes had some of the best success that a 40+ year old boxer has had in history.

Beat prime Mercer by a wide margin at the age of 42. :leon:

Took anywhere between 3-5 rounds off a Prime Holyfield at the age of 43. :leon:

Damn there beat prime Oliver McCall (coming fresh off a 2nd rd TKO of Lennox) at the age of 46. :leon:

If only he didn't fade in the late rds from being :flabbynsick: he would've took that title off McCall and forced Foreman into a unification bout :sadbron:

All that is true...McCall was sleepwalking in that bout until he woke up and opened up on Larry I think in the 9th ...all the fight went out of him after that...he was so close

i always thought...

larry really could have beat tyson. he got knocked out in the early rounds.... but mike would have faded... he just never made it to that point. larry was doing commentary for some tyson fights on espn and when they showed that fight he said he was was about to throw a uppercut at the point he got knocked out but his arm got caught in the ropes and he couldnt move. thats when mike knocked him out. i watched it again in slow mo never knowing that and he was right. he said he would have won if not on account of that.
