Marvel NOW by leaps and fukking bounds.

As far as "bad" stuff? NOW is just Marvel being post-bendis Marvel. Every stryline that's kinda big but self contained gets pushed as an "Event", and that only because Marvel is patterned to generate interest after TVs and Movies. Every "Movie" and/or "Season" has to have it's own title, it's own trailer, it's own teasers.

The only truly "trash" thing we've had is that whole Ultron bullshyt, which we can all tell was just a throwaway story from years ago.

Meanwhile, if we ignore the stuff Bendis is doing. NOW has been pretty good. Hickman's stuff, Remender's stuff, a lot of the titles with "All-New" in the front of them. Only true flop, IMHO, has been Indestructible Hulk.

Meanwhile, New 52 simply told you that your entire lifetime of DC comics memories didn't matter. You as a fan weren't worth a damn. Thank You For Your Support.

It has it's moments. Wonder Woman. Batman didn't change cause they're scared to fukk with their cash cow. Justice League Dark, the Constantine reboot, Demon Knights, Swamp Thing...

rest of it feels like they took advantage of my love of DC comics history and used it to forcibly rape me repeatedly while telling me I'll learn to enjoy it.

Is Marvel Now part of the mainstream Marvel Universe (Earth-616) or is it an alternate universe?

:damn: I've thought about getting into DC for years but shyt, just browsing some wikipidia articles, the amount of fukking retcons is :mindblown:
Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis, 52, Golden Age, Silver Age, there's like ten alternate versions of each character:whoa:

It's just an evolution. That's what makes it fun.

Just go with Post-crisis. It's what the DCAU/Timmverse, the Nolan Batman movies, & most of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies were based off of.

I look at the New 52 as the largest company wide crossover in comics history. All this stuff can be reverted back with on mini-series so I am not heated about the new continuity.

And comparing New 52 to Marvel Now is unfair because all Marvel Now is doing is putting new creative teams on books and treating the books like "seasons" to justify new #1 issues every year or so.

Both companies are producing stuff I like and both are producing some hot garbage but Marvel gets the nod because of how many of their books are just cases where creators are allowed to basically do whatever feels right while DC has too tight a grip on things so that all their books fit into the the overarching continuity mandates from the top.

Its 616, Marvel Now is just new creators being put on books. Nothing has changed continuity wise with Marvel.
