I just found this out a few years ago. Made me more of a Neptunes stan than I already was. If you listen to Mary J.'s vocals close you can hear Pharrell singing background.
Just shows they aren't just pan and pots

Always considered that joint (Come Close) - from the beat to the style of rapping - to be very heavily influenced by this.....

this is no suprise. the song is paying homage to the original ATCQ bonita applebaum song. which is why qtip is on the remix and the remix sounds similar to the original source material.
not really a fan of the original "come close" tho.
