The NBA really needs to realign these conferences

Can you imagine being the Pelicans and having to fly back and forth from NO to Golden State every other game?

Man I was born and raised in Memphis. If we were in the East where we are supposed to be, who knows what could've happened. Could've had a few finals trip with Mike, Marc and Zbo or atleast a lot of conference finals appearances.

New Orleans would've definitely been in the Finals this year especially if Cousins was healthy and they were in the East. Cavs would have no answer.

I propose we relocate Toronto because they've accomplished nothing and are a waste of a franchise and noone likes flying to Canada. Move em to Vegas or bring back St. Louis and make em a Western conference team.

Then you'd move Memphis to the east.
Idk how we get NO to the east while keeping the conference even at 15 though. This crap is a mess.

Maybe have a West, Central and East conference and split em up 10 teams per conference. All star game would be the same format as this year with team captains.

Playoffs would be the top 16 teams ranked by record.

OP is talking about travel, which can be a legit concern.

You can't just move teams and think that automatically shifts competitive balance. Because a team that can be good today can be bad tomorrow.
You would hardly consider Golden State a conference-shifting team even 10 years ago. And while the Lakers were elite 18 years ago, moving them to the East now wouldn't matter either.

Obviously LA and GS are not even realistic candidates to move conferences, but they're just two examples in in theory of teams who have swapped competitive positions in the last decade or so.

Memphis never had enough offense to make the Finals.

Toronto is a world class city with a passionate fan base and they’ve been a good team for much of the 2010’s they just can’t beat Bron but you want them to move to a shyt hole like St. Louis.

nikka what earth are you looking at, Milwaukee is more east than Nola, Nola sits on the Mississippi, that is on the Mississippi River. Milw aint nowhere near that. New Orleans historically been the west, they need to man up and shut up, Memphis too.
