I was looking over the All-Star snub list and realized just how many star players couldn't even make the roster because there wasn't enough spots. The NBA is so loaded with talent. We are far from the days when Jeff Teague, Jamal Magloire, Wally Zerbiac, and Larry Hughes would make an All-Star game.

Devin Booker
Tyrese Maxey
Trae Young
LaMelo Ball
Domantis Sabonis
DeAaron Fox
Kyrie Iriving
Tyrese Haliburton
Ja Morant

This is not to mention the Star players who would have made it but were injured like

Joel Embiid
Luka Doncic
Paul George
Jimmy Butler
Paolo Banchero
Franz Wagner
Kawhi Leonard

The NBA is 40 deep in terms of top talent right now.

there have always been all star snubs since 25 teams became the standard. This isn't new. The same way with all-nba selections. The top 3 players in the 93-94 season were Robinson, Hakeem, and Shaq, but you couldn't have 3 centers on the all nba first team so Shaq and Robinson got screwed. Mourning as a rookie in 93 averaged 20/10/3 blocks a game and didn't make the all star team because there were already 3 centers on the east team hahaha. It happens

Nah talent is way up. Its not about snubs really. Jeff Teague made an all star game averaging 16/7

I'm not even sure Devin Harris would be a starter in today's league either.

Remember the ‘90s when Tyrone Hill was making all-star teams?

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

People want to talk about the talent in the 90s but they forget that BJ Armstrong was an All-Star in the 90's. The NBA used to have a lot of questionable all-star players

When you see this and the afore mentioned Tyrone Hill type of situations, sometimes players used to replace teammates instead of giving it to the right guy. And sometimes it was politics. When Nique was an all star and tore his achilles before the 92 all star game, Kevin Willis replaced him in the game and Stacey Augmon replaced him in the slam dunk contest. Dumars replaced Zeke in 91 all star game. The year Tyrone hill made it, the west was stacked, the east wasn't. Jordan wasn't playing so Tyrone hill got a spot and there was more talent in the west than the east. Now there are 30 teams, scoring is up due to allowing traveling, carrying, etc and everyone is shooting 3s like their lives depend on it. Scoring is up, defense is down. You used to be able to make an all star team just from defensive abilities (Tyrone hill, Rodman), but that shyt is dead. Draymond will be the last to ever do that.

Teague was dead nice though.

16/7 and nearly 2 steals in only 30 minutes with nice splits (46/34/84) on a 60 win pace team at ASB is gonna get you in.
