If I may; I will explain what we call the Mayweather effect. Everyone who has called Mayweather out publicly has been royally fukked afterwards and never recovered. Pacquiao, Rousey, Broner and McGrergor have all called Mayweather out and have had their careers turn to shyt overnight.

Pacquiao = loses to May and gets fukked up by his comments and retires on the back of a boring Tim Bradley fight with very low ppv turnover.

Rousey= gets knocked the fukk out after saying she could be May and contemplates killing herself.

Broner = won his last fight. Called out Mayweather and then thrown into jail and looking at a ten year sentence.

McGrergor = Gets choked out after saying how badly he'd beat Mayweather. Talked about how much money he will have and how he will be a bigger success than May - retires a fukking chump.

50 Cent = bankrupt

No such thing as GOAT in sports, especially boxin', IMO. Only greatest of their era.

Boxin' is a sport where you have to lose to get respect. If you don't lose, the assumption is the competition is weak. Mayweather goes 49-0 but is placed below Sugar Ray, Hagler, Hearns & others from that generation simply because those dudes lost to each other to "prove" how good the others were. Any of them goes undefeated and ALL their stock goes down.

And athletes improve over time. Athletes today are smater, in better condition and more athletic than their preddrcessors.

100% correct, and the funny thing is you can go even farther than that.

Seemingly any fighter that challenged PBF aggressively, the Mayweather effect took course.

Anyone remember Vivian harris? Undefeated fighter stepped up and called Mayweather out at a Gatti press conference. Harris gets KO'd his next fight against a no name fighter and never recovered as the prospect that he was at the time.

Also Zab and May were good friends until Zab called PBF out and the next fight Zab loses to huge underdog in Carlos Balomir. Arguably Zab never won another big fight.

Alot others that I cannot remember, but yeah that Mayweather effect is real
