The Dust King
A Childrens Story
this is an appreciation for the lyricist lounge which started in NYCs lower east side in the early 90s and became a worldwide phenomenon by the year 2000.
this showcase was a venue for upcoming and established MCs, Graf writers and Djs.
for me the lyricist lounge represented hip-hop to the core and what the culture should actually represent and since its inception branched to the West coast and even spawned a tv show (MTV)
though it originated in NY, it wasnt only about our city or the East period. Mcs, Djs and writers from all over were on display there.
when you think Lyricist Lounge you should think of a place where all types of hiphop congregate but with only two purposes, lyricism and skills.
when you think of this movement you should know these names affiliated with it
