First time in the barbershop in 9 months. Been bald since March but grew my hair out for three weeks. Nothing like being in a black barbershop where the conversation can go from how current NBA players are divas to strippers to whether God exists or not all within 20 minutes.

I've missed it.

I cant stand all the talk in the shop. Im trying to get in and out not having cats taking breaks to argue

I was in a bookstore because of another thread, bought some books, petted the cat, paid for my books....

The husband (co-owner of the store) told me to go pick a book out from underneath the Christmas tree. The books were wrapped but had the genre on the label. I chose the “Non-fiction WWII”


I kid you not brehs, I was browsing the Hitler, Churchill, and WWII section for like 10 minutes but couldn’t find anything I liked ( aka in my price range, the books I liked were $60!!!!)

Sometime I think to myself, "America does not deserve Black People". We do so much great stuff in this country and have for decades, and we get treated...like...this. Like garbage. 24/7/365. White America don't deserve Michael Jordan. They don't deserve Prince. They don't deserve LeBron. Don't deserbe Dave Chappelle. Don't deserve Kobe. They can love these people...but hate the average black person just going on their day to day lives?


I'm sorry coli fam, I went on Twitter looking for a tweet saying "I want someone to love me like the bay loves Mac Dre" and the original tweet was from a black dude, and all I can find is some white EDM DJ chick saying the same thing later and getting more likes and retweets than the original...and the shyt pissed me off.

That’s why my old barber switched to a single room in one of those salon suites. He preferred one on one convo. As a woman it was definitely a different vibe lol not good or bad, just not as much anxiety walking in a shop full of men.
