First, we expose how BS Nielsen ratings are. It's extrapolated data, and I never heard of anyone that takes part in this, so it's gotta be wildly inaccurate.
Now we will incorporate the "casual viewer" logic of they only check youtube clips, and they only check clips of people they actually like, in programs that actually interest them. I, myself am doing this at the moment. We will also assume there is no funny business on WWE's side to boost views for certain people. Let's take a look at this weeks' numbers.
RAW
What we can see with our fukkin' eyes:
-Rousey is a huge draw
-Braun is a great draw
-Seth is a decent draw
-people are not messing with the B-Team and/or the tag division
-the Women's evolution is drawing more than Elias/Lashley
-people are very interested in the Lesnar/Heyman conflict
-Roman is a huge draw
-no one gives a fukk about Finn Balor
-no one gives a fukk about Bobby Roode
SD
What we can see with our fukkin' eyes:
-Paige draws as a GM, people like to stare at her pasty white skin
-still no one gives a fukk about tag teams, even in the main event
-Orton has revitalized his career by going heel
-Shinsuke still holding it down as a heel
-Styles starting to lose big stream / ppl don't care about Samoa Joe
-no one fukks with the Miz reality show
-Bryan is thus carrying this feud, interest wise
-Lana and Zelina almost outdrew Charlotte/Becky, but the latter was a tag match after-all, also means people are into the Almas/Rusev feud
I'll update weekly, as consistency will tell us even more. :_dallas:
Nielsen television ratings are gathered in one of two ways:
- Viewer "diaries," in which a target audience self-records its viewing or listening habits. By targeting various demographics, the assembled statistical models provide a rendering of the audiences of any given show, network, and programming hour.
- A more technologically sophisticated system uses Set Meters, which are small devices connected to televisions in selected homes. These devices gather the viewing habits of the home and transmit the information nightly to Nielsen through a "Home Unit" connected to a phone line. The technology-based home unit system is meant to allow market researchers to study television viewing habits on a minute to minute basis, seeing the exact moment viewers change channels or turn off their television set. In addition to set meters, individual viewer reporting devices, such as people meters, have allowed the company to separate household viewing information into various demographic groups.
