But the grifters are trying to tell me it’s a failure and I should be mad about it!

Though I still do agree the way they’ve promoted it has left a lot to be desired even if the financials are turning out to be good.

The ends don’t always justify the means, if you will.
Honestly they still should've done better in terms of the fcckery leading up to the event.

Also, if I'm them I'm starting the event with either Buddy/Okada or Omega-Ospreay/Fletcher-Takeshyta

I’d start with the tag match. If AEW viewers had to make a top 10 list of the most exciting in-ring men’s workers, those four would all make a significant portion of the lists.

They are all fairly synonymous with the style of wrestling that makes AEW PPVs must watch for people who are PPV only viewers as well. And all four are going to be prominently featured for years to come.

With the big lead-in they are about to have, you go with what has the potential to be the most exciting match and that’s the one you want to lead off with when a lot of people aren’t going to stick around for all of it due to how late it’s starting. Got to give them the best taste they can get to convince them to pick it up later or start watching next week.
