"Datamaining the day 1 patch reveals that it will apply AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution to the game, thus substantially improving the game's stability and resolution. Those who have tried the previous version and the current one corroborate a
palpable difference."

Just installed the update/other version on deck. It's dramatically better now. A full solid 30 frames indoors. Outside dips, but not too agressively and it holds up well, comparatively. And aside from some graphical glitches in far away scenery, it looks a helluva lot cleaner too. It's lot more playable now and feels parallel to Switch. It's still quite the improvement overall. Just got the 2nd ability. One negative tho is that it crashes more often now (although initial boot up is quicker), mostly seemed to be linked to the submenu options, especially when quick and/or excessive toggling. Lastly, it seems to have stopped the auto-walking as well. I think that might've just been something tied to the low framerate honestly.

Where'd you get the updates breh

I think 95 is the best bet.

Here is the MC of past games:

97 - Breath of the Wild
93 - Skyward Sword
95 - Twilight Princess
96 - Wind Waker
95 - Majora's Mask
99 - Ocarina of Time

These are the handheld games:

91 - A Link Between Worlds
87 - Spirit Tracks
90 - Phantom Hourglass
89 - The Minish Cap

The Zelda franchise is on another level, they built diff. The only mobile one I've played was A Link Between Worlds, that was a good one. Among the 3D ones, Skyward Sword was the only one I didn't like all that much. I thought that shyt was tedious as hell. Thank god they rebooted with BoTW after that.

I think it's good to keep hype in check, but Elden Ring, while a GOAT game, is a much different experience than Zelda.

They set out to do different things and to be reductive about what either accomplishes is just fanboy banter.

There are things Elden Ring did that BoTW did first but that doesn't take away from that Elden Ring experience at all.

The major difference in philosophy is that Elden Ring hid how big its open world was, while BoTW showed you from jump and didn't bar you from any progression, access, using blocks that felt artifical. So to say Elden Ring did it last year doesn't mean much because both approaches will be vastly different, and both games work and play very differently.

If Elden Ring 2 did sky islands I'd be hyped as fukk just to see their take on it. Idk why everything gotta be this comparison game.
For me a 95 is too "low" because this game is literally BOTW PLUS a bunch of new shyt. It feels so much like BOTW that at times you might forget you're playing a new game except it's obvious with all the new stuff that it's a new game.

With the other Zelda games, each new Zelda was substantially different from the previous one giving the feeling that one could possibly not like a new entry as much as the old one e.g. Majoras Mask from OOT or Wind Waker to Twilight Princess. Each Zelda they pretty much changed something big that made it different in a big way.

BOTW 1 to TOTK is like a true sequel whereas I never felt like the other Zelda games were actual sequels. It should be like how Mario Galaxy 1 /2 got the same scores.

Yeah, but things like that is exactly why it might not get any higher than that. Especially in this era when folks be expecting dramatic changes out of sequels. Like you, I think the game is a dramatic enhancement of the first game, which was already a classic, but for some folks, that's not good enough for a sequel because they be feeling that they playing it too safe and other shyt. For example, my daughter (10) was fairly underwhelmed with looking at the game because she was feeling it was too samey (I think she'll get more into it when she actually plays and experiences the new mechanics) . Not to mention the whole dated hardware/performance mindset of today as well. So a 95 might the ceiling for it. Which isn't bad really at all. TBH, I might not score it any higher myself, because for all of its additions, it still doesn't really improve upon lil things that I would have liked. Granted, I'm still early in the game, but I really doubt it.

While probably not an official reviewer, this guy on reddit put 120 hours in and beat the game already and while he says it's better than BOTW, he rated it an 8.8/10.

Man wtf :dead: where do they get the time to do these crazy things.
Im still at the start and I haven’t touched my switch since the day it leaked :dead:
I’d be surprised if I finish it before August tbh

He said that he has insomnia and is an army cat on long term leave, so he got nothing but idle time on his hands. TBH, I would and could play games like that if I had nothing else going on in life. But that said, I like to play a few games at a time and long, open world games usually burn me out after a point, so it's rare that I'd beat them without taking a few months break. So it's doubtful that I'd beat a game like this in a week, even if I had the time.

Facts tbh, never thought of it that way. When Galaxy 2 dropped I was like, "why tf did they do this?" Then I played it and as how they improved on a masterpiece and even added some more of the classic Mario elements to the game. The games are damn near visually indistinguishable but then the differences show as you play.

All the early buzz I am seeing says this game doesn't make BoTW a bad game but it makes the shyt feel obsolete. Like going back to a smart phone from 6-7 years ago. You could do it and be fine and have a good experience, but the question is why would you?

My son preordered this on Amazon, but on the 12th I'm going to Wal-Mart in the morning. I told him that from jump. This is his own purchase with his own money. We have 2 switches.

Should I let him have his own copy?
Or should I just cancel his and share mine?

I would cancel mine but...case me and my lady ever part ways  .......
Breh I got 3 coming from Amazon for each of my kids and me and also bought myself the new TOFK oled model so we each have a switch now lol
