ya…granted I always thought it was the other way around and that RDR2 borrowed a lot of elements from BOTW which released a year and a half earlier
Its both. BOTW was partially inspired by games like Shadow of the Colossus, Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 1.
In turn, Red Dead Redemption 2 was partially inspired by BOTW.
Then TOTK got inspired by RDR2. Basically these developers are all playing the same games and feeding ideas off each other. It’s a loop that ideally leads to better sequels.

I think once y'all play Tears of The Kingdom, you gonna see why I said BoTW is a really good game, but it isn't a masterpiece because there was waaay too much room for improvement and it looks like this game will do just that.
They need to have played Elden Ring instead of Red Dead tbh..
And we had no idea that was coming unlike the overworld here. I get the sinking feeling this sequel may be just slightly behind the curve of what's impressive. If it feels like Elden Ring DLC thats fine though. Not much other competition this year.

That interview came out before Elden Ring. I bet after they played Elden Ring they changed or added some shyt which is probably partially why the game got pushed back. Elden Ring is the type a game that would make their competition push their shyt back.

The arm that sealed Ganon, is now possessed by Link and is basically how Link controls Zonai magic.
Is the arm what’s activated the Zonai ruins?
Is the arm giving him flashbacks from thousands of years ago, making him go through its memories Assassin’s Creed style?
