I never got into it because i could never believe that Fiona wouldn't have been wifed by some middle class simp.
If Fiona was built different then no doubt she could've found her simp charming, but that's not who she is. Her character is based off someone who COULD be wifed or "saved", but doesn't want to be. That's part of the appeal.
fiona had unmatched slut levels around that time.
i know simps are simps, but that level of simpery is hard to get across to a television audience
Nah, it wasn't that. Fiona is meant to be an example of the types of chicks a lot of coli/bitter nikkas like to either pretend don't exist, or talk shyt about cause it doesn't fit their angry narrative. She doesn't think she's
too good or "better than she is" or some shyt, nor is she out here trying to snag a simp for financial gain.
She KNOWS she's a working class slut from a
highly dysfunctional family, and seeks other equally dysfunctional men to deal with because of it. She's not trying to pull an actual "good guy" into that kind of fukkery - even though she easily could - cause she knows who and what she is.
That level of simping would've easily been tolerated by audiences - you forget this show wasn't made to cater to "urban" so-called #HOH types. The literal WHITE knights that make up the majority of the audience could've easily swallowed someone simping and saving her...but then, that wouldn't be much of a show.
On another note, in the Original UK version, IIRC, Fiona actually did run off with Jimmy the Simp, leaving her dysfunctional, working class family behind.
