Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck yesssssssss. One of the greatest fantasy series of our lifetimes is about to get that life action treatment. Kvothe the Ruh, bout to come for nikkas neeeeeecks

Lin-Manuel Miranda's Kingkiller Chronicle Adaptation Adds Leverage Showrunner

Lin-Manuel Miranda's adaptation of the popular book franchise The Kingkiller Chronicle has found a very unexpected showrunner in John Rodgers, best known for Leverage, The Librarians and The Player.

Rodgers will executive-produce and write the pilot for the television arm of the adaptation, Variety reports. Miranda is producing the large-scale project, which will also include a film, and the Hamilton creator will compose original music for both the TV show and movie. Author Patrick Rothfuss and Robert Lawrence (Die Hard with a Vengeance) will also serve as producers on both arms of the Kingkiller Chronicle adaptation, which will be developed by Lionsgate.

Rothfuss' popular fantasy series, which includes three books (one of which has yet to be published) and multiple novellas, is told in two timelines: the present, where retired legendary hero Kvothe tells his life story, and the past, which chronicles Kvothe's young life as a renowned adventurer, scholar and musician.

The film adaptation will focus on the stories from the books, but the television series will expand the world beyond what Rothfuss has written.

The Name of the Wind is probably my 2nd favorite fantasy book of all time so this is big fukking news to me. Lin-Manuel Miranda is adapting it too? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. If they're making it a movie, its gotta at least be 3 parts. I wouldn't mind more. Theres so much shyt going on in the story.

ITS LIT!!! :ahh:

I mean....they're not even remotely similar in all honesty. The magic system in these books is...oddly scientific. In the sense that they establish the rules for magic and it adheres to it all the way around for the most part. It's epic/high fantasy compared to GoT/ASOIAF which I love, but just isn't nearly as in depth I feel. Do yourself a favor and buy the first book. After I read the first book, The Name of the Wind, I bought 3 copies. One for myself and 2 for my friends. After one of my friends finished it, I let her borrow my copy of the second. She called me like 4 days later at about 3 am to yell at me because the third book isn't out yet and I didn't let her know before she binged them both.

If you enjoy reading at all man get yourself a copy of The Name of the Wind. I literally picked it up so randomly. It was sitting on the fantasy display table at my local library and I chuckled at how plain and unoriginal the cover for it was. Checked it out. I really didn't have any intentions on really reading it until I was bored and remembered I checked it out. Googled it, saw it had absurdly good reviews. The rest is history. Kvothe is one of my favorite characters of all time.

Only fantasy book this century that is even on that level, that I've read so far, is The Way of Kings.

Okay I'm a big Warhammer fantasy and 40k reader, so just trying to get a feel, since I don't like GoT
