its a good movie but how in the hell did it win a oscar?

i thought great movies were suppose to win it, its like a another crash movie.

i guess it was a down year

I liked it, not best pic worthy ...but its underrated imo since it doesnt get talked about.

it was a down year. and ironically the first year they started doing 10 nominees for best picture. i didnt see all the nominees that year (precious, a serious man) but none really had that "best picture" feel to them. i guess avatar? i really enjoyed district 9 but even i couldnt see it winning best picture.
