First of all it doesn't promote safety because in the penn state / fukk face game i'm watching right now a dude lost his helment while being tacked and got hit DURING the play and was ktfo for second...did that rule help him?

Secondly, it is an easy way to take a player out of a game in a pivotal moment if you're slick...in a pile its easy to slip a helmet off...if so they're gone for a play, plus it will promote MORE high hits because its now a bonus.

i can GUARANTEE someone like...oh I DONT KNOW...william golston from michigan state will rip off a dudes helmet during a pivotal moment in a game just so the next play that player has to be off the field

watch, their game at wisconsin, its gonna happen to montee ball in the 4th quarter on the goal line :youngsabo:

But you making it seem like technology hasn't caught up with the fukkery that once occurred during a pile up . Gone are the days where you could dig nikkas' eyes or grab their nuts {pause} without being seen by those HDTV cams, let alone pulling off a helmet

I definitely expect this rule to lose a big game for someone this year. You get a 15 yard personal foul if you lose your helmet during a play and keep going. Also, you can choose to take a 10-second runoff if your opponent loses his helmet under a minute in the 2nd and 4th quarters.

I agree with Ed in the OP

I've been thinking about this since they announced the rule

and you'd be a fool to think that CFB's greatest coaches weren't already thinking about ways to utilize this

My exact thoughs last week when I found out about the new rule. How many times are a QB's helmet gonna "slip off" on 2nd Down and they have to be sidelined on 3rd & long when it's clearly a passing situation???

They clearly didn't think this one all the way through... :mjpls:

Dumbest most pointless rule I've ever seen in my life. It doesn't even promote safety. They act like dudes out there running around without helmets. They strap it up in the huddle and keep playing
