I can do about 3 to 5 solid reps of these... Working my way up... If you start flat on the ground like he does then you feel it in posterior of your core. If you start it off slightly raised of the ground from a plank position resting on your forearms it targets your abs more :damn:

i mean :manny:

is he using his abs or his lats(ala pullover)

you dont need to do crazy ab exercises to get decent abs

low bf + squat/DLs + occasional ab work = great 6 or 8 pack

its a known recipe

even still the way hes doing them...id be curious if he could do the same number going all the way down after doing one :ehh:

Squats/DLs call on your core for stability... that is a good and bad thing though, if your core is not strong enough...

SNAP CITY!!!!!!

They also call on your traverse abdominals (basically your girdle) to keep your guts in place. I reached the limit of my back earlier this year so I am gonna switch to hitting this shyt directly... weighted planks etc.

Your core has to keep your spine neutral when there is X amount of weight compressing it when you're doing a squat or deadlifting.

Your core is under constant stress through out the total movement of the exercise (squat/DL). That is why compound barbell movements are better than some homo ass machine.

I have good abs and all I do is squat/dl. When i workout at the gym people be looking at me like WHOA.

Look at a powerlifter who squats 700+ pounds their stomach is huge (granted alot is fat) because their ab muscles are so large. If some of those fools cut their abs would be ridiculous. Just look at a football player. The squat deadlift bench and clean and do few accessory lifts and their cores are jacked.
