Or is America, as we've seen, focused on the message in spite of the candidate's flaws and unfavorable?

Some of this stuff was put out on social media by Clinton loyalists.

I think the Sanders team had a much better communications team. So I'd say no. Plus, being called "Comrade Bernie" is better than chants of "lock her up!" or criminal.

We'll never know. But it's The Coli. And vote in the poll.

I think everyone should have voted so Trump or whatever candidate the republicans fielded didn't win.

A lot of people didn't vote and are now angry because of the result.

I don't know if it would be devastating in a loss but things would be much more messy. The nuclear waste and Sandinista rally are pretty bad.

If oppo research mattered as much as these people thought, the guy who bragged about sexual assault on tape wouldn't have just won the presidency.
Yeah but it's not like he won by wide margins. The sexual assault tapes did bring him down significantly in the polls.

lets not go overboard with the poll hating...

the polls didn't lie...shytlary still won the popular vote. She just couldn't get the independents to fall her way, and because of that, many people stayed home. It wasn't like Trump won in some electoral/popular vote landslide like Obama did twice. The country is obviously still divided, and many votes were still left on the table at the end of the day

It mattered. Only reason why it didnt appear to is because hillary's garbage made it moot. Bernie wouldnt have had that problem

Point here being that if the p*ssy grabbing tape, the taxes, the daughter fukking, the sexual assault, the Castro connection, etc didn't sink trump, Bernie writing an esoteric feminist essay 40 years ago, him being poor 50 years ago(this being oppo itself is just such perfect liberalism), and him being onstage with a socialist almost no one in America knows by name wouldn't have done shyt.

Eichenwald is a well known hack who's big expose on trump was that he did some business in Cuba. This was supposed to be a big deal that would kill him in Florida(lol). He probably thinks Bernie supporting Ortega and saying nice things about cuba's healthcare system are important for the same reason; he doesn't understand he's an old dumb bytch and this isn't 1980.

Bernie was asked several times in the primary about his ties to socialists and shyt, to argue that this would've been a new and devastating attack is to ignore everything that has happened this year

I don't think it would have mattered given what came out about Trump, although who knows how involved the Clinton campaign was in releasing those things. The election would have been more of a referendum on Bernie's experience and plans, versus focusing on his past because he is clearly not the scumbag Hillary was and is. I think considering there was some overlap in who Bernie and Trump spoke to, those voters would have gone to Bernie. I also don't think Bernie's team would have focused so much on painting Trump supporters as deplorables, which turned some people to Trump.

that kind of oppo on bernie wouldn't have worked because he would have been the cleanest of the 3. the question would be if the koch brothers spending tons of money to frame an opinion of bernie as a commie in the minds of these same midwestern working class voters that he would help, if that would have stuck.

You have a child's understanding of politics

No you do. Keep thinking Bernie is some transcendent figure like Obama who would be immune to the slimeball tactics of the repubs and Trump. I mean hell the moment Trump stop courting Sanders voters and moved to the right he started seriously gaining momentum
