First let me end this Breaking Bad debate. Let's compare Breaking Bad vs The Wire by seasons.

Season 1 - The Wire takes this easy.

Season 2 - most gonna hate, but I still give it to The Wire, but ain't mad if someone gave BB the nod.

Season 3 - The Wire takes it again.

Season 4 - The Wire takes this in a slight victory. Breaking Bad's best season is 4, but still behind The Wire.

Season 5 - I'll give BB the edge though the season isn't as good as Season 4.

Regardless I got The Wire beating BB. But still got Breaking Bad in my top 5.

My top 5 TV series are.

DEADWOOD
The Sopranos
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad

I put Game of Thrones in my top 5, thought it hasn't ended yet, and expect it to move in the top 3 once it ends.

Arrested Development...I know it doesn't fit the shows you're looking for but I still think it's one of the most well written shows ever.

Breaking Bad and The Wire interchangeable at one and two depending on how I feel. Leaning more towards considering that it's about to be one of the few golden age dramas to stick the landing.
