Yes, it has traditionaly leaned towards NR. The Northeast was very industrial and it got hit hard the past decades with relocation plans and factory closings so poverty rates are high there. You could basically layer a poverty rate map on top of this and see a huge corelation

I would say it's more anti establishment sentiment than c00ning. COVID restrictions were not accepted well and Macron does not have a good rep any more.

Melenchon won most French overseas territories in the first round. Participation average there was 45% while it was 72% overall. This tells also more of the general sentiment regarding this election.
