Wow

I just finished watching The Founder (great movie btw)

poster-large.jpg

Dude was just immoral and ruthless.

He ran with the fast food system the McDonald brothers came up with and told them to bounce...then rubbed their name out from history and called himself the founder :wow:

They couldn't use their own name and had to rename their restaurant (the OG McDonald's) The Big M:damn:

....one of the brothers called it after they franchised it to him.."we have a wolf in the hen house".

He opened up a McDonald's next to them to put them out of business :pacspit:

Stealing that franchisee's wife

Bouncing on his day 1 ride or die wife when he started getting money

Having that second wife as a stop gap while his sidepiece was with her ex...soon as she gave the go ahead he got his lawyer to inform his wife he wants to divorce her

Breh was just a scumbag

He was a scumbag in the end, but like most business titans, you have to be in order to become a legendary brand. I always thought it was weird when they would talk about Ray Kroc being the founder of Mcdonald's. I was thinking "where did he come up with McDonald's?"

I think the brothers had a chance to capitalize, but they were just in it for the art and passion of running a small fast food joint and Kroc was able to see the big picture. The brothers should've had their profit sharing deal in writing though. It's weird how at-all-costs ambition is hardly ever stopped by people on the other side.

Yeah, this is one of the few movies that stuck with me. So much so, that me and my wife both call McDonald's, Kroc's now. It's funny, the movie starts off as propaganda and by the end, we were like WTF? Movie took a massive turn on us. But, I feel as though, people like Kroc make the world turn round. Business is business at the end of the day.

I hear that but some of those shyts were not really business. He was keen to be seen as the founder. Calling the Des Plaines, Illinois site the original McDonald's doesn't have anything to do with business or capitalising. He just wanted to take credit for the ideas and concepts of others. He could at least give them their props.

Look at this shyt:

Kroc was a visionary, he didn't create the fast food model, but he was able to see its potential from one little diner. The brothers were stifling his desire to expand, but just like the laws of attraction, Kroc came across someone who schooled in the way of buying the property and having the franchisees rent the property from him. The brothers had a chance to completely stop him, but they got caught up in the hype of their name being across the country, but they still was thinking small.

Hey man, I feel you; but what do they say about the victors in war ?, they get to write the history. The fact that they had to rebuild the "original" McDonalds because they tore it down seems weird though.

I kinda agree wth you there. I also feel like being a 52 year door-to-door salesman influenced how he moved. A 52 yr old salesman living that Pursuit of Happyness lifestyle would do anything for the bag .....Slinging junk to people for many years makes one indifferent about fukking people over lol. He hustled people for a living. He was trying to convince a guy who hardly sold any milkshakes to buy his milkshake machine that produced like 8 milkshakes a minute...."increase supply and demand will follow. The chicken and egg theory"....:dead:

I'm still not sure if he believed that but it did sound convincing:patrice:.....You're hardly selling any milkshakes...what you should do is make more with this machine lol

That's a good point. Kroc may have been selling convenience and efficiency as well. If you can make 8 at the same speed you can make one, you might be more inclined to promote milkshakes a little more. Plus you can lower the price because the amount of effort it takes to make a milkshake is shortened.
