union are possible in state funded projects or companies with government contracts ;
people like amazon have to have unions as they are meshed into the local economy and quality of life of the constituents

They were around before they created the union. They released the first game they developed. They failed because they couldn't get funding for their next project and ran out of money, not because they unionized.
