"he's too strong, he's indestructible, "
superman is no more indestructible than any other superhero.
- batman is either completely bulletproof from head to toe or he is fast enough to dodge them entirely depending on what version you prescribe to.
- spiderman scientifically senses danger (any kind of danger) before it even materializes.
- wolverine can heal from ANYTHING.
basically all these superheroes can take whatever you throw at them. they are ALL unstoppable against a gang of thugs just as superman is unstoppable against a gang of thugs. they may have a specific set of villains that leave them vulnerable in their own unique ways but so does superman.
"he's unrelatable because he's an alien"
ridiculous, he's a normal guy raised in america. he has dreams, he has goals, he has a job, he has friends, he loves his parents, he has feelings for a co-worker... his place of birth has no baring on any of this. is wolverine less relatable because he's a mutant? cap less relatable because he's a super soldier? batman less relatable because he's the richest guy in the world?
"he's too good"
not sure what else we should be judging our heroes on if not their moral code and ethics... also if superman is boring because he's too good then so is every gracious, selfless superhero character because they all pretty much take their cues from him.
"he doesn't have good villains"
luthor, brainiac, and darkseid can go toe to toe with anyone's top 3. there's also metallo, bizarro, parasite... supes has plenty of interesting villains.
maybe people think he's really boring because his last few movie iterations have been really boring...
