That's really sad I really enjoyed reading books as a kid and it was encouraged.

I know for a fact nys/nyc still make kids read books

A lot of kids are pretty crashed out these days early... so I can see how its possible they can't focus enough to read a book... but I wouldn't think that applies to kids going to Ivies unless their brains are just fried from tiktok and every other stimulation thrown their way.

I don't have an atlantic sub so I can't read the whole thing. Want to share some bullet points/takeaways.

I find it hard to believe unless the kids didn’t read assignments in high school.

Any AP English class is going to have you reading more than one page poetry for assignments.
