At first glance, my scientific background tells me that this actually makes sense. More carbon dioxide in the atmosphere means more plant metabolic activity. In turn with the added humidity and warmer temps, this is a plants dream. But as the poster above me said...whats good for them isnt necessarily good for us. But then again I didnt watch that video. I dont got 19 minutes like that :birdman:

We don't know as much as we assume to know. We just learned that the amazon rain forest is literally the lung system of the earth (produces most our oxygen) nourished by nutrients in the soil of the sahara carried as dust by winds not too long ago... :mindblown:

What if we had deforested it?

Everything has a relationship in nature... I got 5 mins into the video. Cool discovery but lets not use this as a excuse to continue raping the world :snoop:

There was a lot of carbon in the atmosphere during the jurassic period. Global warming wont hurt the earth, but it will hurt humanity. The only thing that hurts the earth are human beings and rocks from outer space.

And insects were HUGE because of the increased oxygen output, we may have a war on our hands my friend.

Hmm, a House of Lords member with no credentials in climate science (he's a zoologist by training) doing pop science funded by a free market think tank. No offense, but this is as "coopted" as it gets. There are also a bunch of flaws and misleading elements in his argument, but I don't have time to write them down right now.

One of the biggest tricks used by corporations today is convincing people that environmentalism is the "coopted," "elite" position. Environmentalists were and still are losing.

As soon as I read the title of the video I know what he was going to be discussing; Increased CO2 is beneficial for plant growth.

:why: He takes this obvious fact and then its :snoop: from there.

what are you talking about?

"climate change" is CLEARLY a concerted effort by scientists across many fields of study, government officials on the wrong side of energy policy, green companies, environmental groups, the nefarious "elite" secret societies etc. to deceive the public into...ummm...uhh...they're doing it to ummmm...scare everybody and make them want...stuff...you know, bad stuff...like uh...prius' and polar ice caps and solar panels and forests and captain planet and shyt.

on the opposite side of the spectrum, the oil companies and fossil fuel industries are completely void of any influence from those evil "elites" and happily invite their green competitors to come take a bite out of their hundreds of billions of dollars in profits a year. sure, they spend a few bucks for studies disproving "climate change", but that's only because they're concerned with facts, which are being drowned out by the world-wide, all-emcompassing "global warming" false-flag conspiracy.

the dirty truth is, the whole "green" and "clean" movement is the most polluted part of this world. it's human's crying wolf for gaia, trying to frighten you sheep into emptying your pocket book into the coffers of those in the standing in the shadows...of freshly planted trees.

WAKE UP.

Yep.

Also lowkey warmer temperatures may mean a VERY unfavorable environment for us and a very favorable environment in an immunological sense.

His credentials may not be up to your standards but you have to agree with the data that the earth is getting greener..thats not to say humanity couldnt do better for the enviroment like keeping down pollution and water conservation etc and i dont think that was the point

The real environmentalists may be losing but the political environmentalists like Al gore and all the others getting on those Green tax credits and grants are hardly starving..they have certainly used the impetus of scary stats and movies like inconvenient truth to push their agenda.

I would still appreciate hearing your thoughts on the flaws in Ridleys video though

You don't have to actually watch it...its mainly just the guy talking...I haven't watched (listened) to it yet either...so I'm not going comment yet.....

All I know is there is so much gray area with the environmental issues right now...its a trip...you have to go into a schizoid frame of mind to take it all it all in, cause it is just that wacky and confusing.........
