I watched the 70s movie last weekend. The pacing is typically slow for the 70s but it's still fire. There's little in comparison between the 70s movie and the miniseries.

1. The Jackals aren't too dissimilar besides the fact that the 70s one doesn't have a wife or girlfriend. The 70s Jackal also hooked up with a gay dude, though they didn't show anything obviously because it's the 70s.

2. By giving Bianca a family (Lebel, the 70s detective, has a wife but you only see her in his first scene) they set the two apart. Lebel can afford to be obsessive because he's basically alone, but Bianca's obsession makes her a shyt mother.

3. The Redmayne one is actually more competent; the 70s Jackal's cover is fully blown with an hour left in the movie. Also, he full on fukking chokes the final assignment. No distraction, no second shooter, he just waits too long and misses De Gaulle.

The scene where he blams UDC was good, the build up, camera work, music, tension was all on point. Jackal had some some nasty equipment on that boat :whoo:
