THE DARK KNIGHT
Bruce Wayne: Bruce Wayne, 55 years old. He gave up the Batman identity ten years past, strongly hinted as a reaction to the death of the former Robin, Jason Todd. But when he sees violence running rampant and his personal demons can no longer be denied, he is forced to return.
Sean Bean: I am so surprised to have not seen this suggested before! Sean Bean is a total bad-ass and could total pull off an aged Bruce Wayne, in his mid fifties he's perfect for the part!
ALFRED PENNYWORTH
Alfred Pennyworth: Wayne's trusted butler and assistant, now in his 80's.
Peter O'Toole: O'Toole is great actor who has the required presence for the role of Alfred, not to mention he looks spot on!
ROBIN
Carrie Kelley: Is 13 years old. She becomes Robin, and is accepted by the Batman after saving his life.
Elle Fanning: I'll admit that I haven't seen her in anything but if she's even half as talented as her older sister I can easily see her owning this role.
COMMISSIONER GORDON
James Gordon: Commissioner of the Gotham Police, 70 years old.
John Hurt: He's perfect for it! He even somewhat resembles an aged Gary Oldman- Gordon! In his early 70's, he's the right age too!
ELLEN YINDEL
Ellen Yindel: age=false&id=63&keyword=James]James Gordon's successor. She starts off as Batman's fiercest opponent, but begins to doubts herself.
Cate Blanchett: Nothing like a bit of homegrown talent! Blanchett is a great actress who would no doubt excel in this role. Can't think of anyone better for it.
MUTANT LEADER
Mutant Leader: Head of a gang of teens called the "Mutants," who terrorize Gotham. The leader is a strong, savage brute who puts a hit on Gordon, beats Batman in their first encounter, goes to jail, kills the mayor (while still in jail), escapes, and is eventually beaten by Batman.
Tyler Mane: Now this role doesn't require a whole lot of great acting and I'm sure Mane could pull it off! He's about 6'8! Check him out as Sabretooth in .
TWO-FACE
Harvey Dent: now middle-aged Harvey Dent, whose face is reconstructed with plastic surgery, but is still Two-Face in his mind and cannot refrain from criminal acts.
John Malkovich: This role was really hard for me to cast, but when I finally settled on Malkovich I was pretty happy! This guy certainly knows how to play a bad guy and it would be interesting to see his take on Harvey Dent / Two-Face.
THE JOKER
The Joker: As an elderly catatonic prisoner of Arkham Asylum. He becomes a criminal again when he sees Batman's return, and sets in motion a final confrontation with the hero.
Steve Buscemi: I know a lot of people are keen on Mark Hamill starring as The Joker in a 'The Dark Knight Returns' adaption but I believe Steve Buscemi is just too perfect! He just knows how to play creepy and downright disturbing so well!
ABNER
Abner: Abner is a mentally ill henchman of the Joker. He is a talented explosives expert.
John Goodman: I love this choice, I mean seriously imagine Goodman as The Joker's main goon! It's just be downright awesome, well to me anyway.
DR. WOLPER
Dr. Bartholomew Wolper: The Joker's psychiatrist and staunch opponent of Batman's "fascist" vigilantism.
Vincent Cassel: Now I know you always see him play a full on bad guy, but it would be interesting to see his take on this character. If he was a bit older I'd consider him for the role of the Joker himself! He's just really versatile and would just make the character his own.
